A GUIDE TO PLAYING BACCARAT
Many people that gamble in Casinos, Sports Bars, Betting Shops or online quite often stick with games like Roulette, Blackjack, Bingo and Slots. Although Baccarat is one of the oldest table games many people do not play it, probably because they think the game is too difficult or the betting stakes are too high. In fact, neither of those are true, it’s quite a simple game and with an online Casino the stakes to play can be quite low.
The guide below shows you how to play Baccarat. There are lots of side and extra bets you can do, but the basic play is shown below.

GAME PLAY
Baccarat is the perfect game if you want excitement in the form of simple entertainment. The game is easy to learn and offers an effortless gameplay. When you have placed your bet there is nothing left to do but to sit back, cross your fingers and enjoy the game play out. In the following article we’ll step by step teach you how baccarat is played. You’ll get going in no time!
1. On the table you’ll find three different sections to place bets on: the bank, the player and tie. Don’t be confused by the names as the player has nothing to do with you and the bank has nothing to do with the house. These are simply three different betting alternatives. Before any cards are dealt, you’ll place a bet if you think that the bank or player will win, or if you think that it will be a tie. A correct choice for the bank and player pays 1:1, while tie usually pays 9:1, but in some cases 8:1.
2. After the bet has been placed, two cards are dealt to the player and two to the bank. The value of the player’s and the bank’s cards are added together to make a sum. All cards between 2-9 are worth their numbers, while all 10s and face cards are worth 0 and aces worth 1. If the sum of the cards becomes higher than 9, this sum will be subtracted by 10. For instance, two 9s will give a sum of 8 points instead of 18.
3. The hand that has a sum closest to 9 is the winner, whereas it’s tied if both hands show the same sum. If the bank received 4 + 3 and the player 5 + 4, the player wins with 9 over 7. If you had a bet placed on the player winning, you would receive double the stake back.
4. Sometimes a third card will be dealt to the player. This happens automatically if the sum of the two first cards is the same as or lower than 5. The exception to the rule is if the bank has a sum of 8 or 9 as the bank would then win. If a third card is indeed given to the player, the value of all cards will be added together and compared as usual.
At times the bank will also receive a third card, but this can only happen if the player has received one. It’s not always that the bank will receive one even though the player did, but this is based on what the player’s third card showed and what sum the bank currently has. If the player’s third card was a 2 or a 3, the bank will only receive a third card if their sum is 4 or less. In the blow table you’ll find all occasions the bank will receive a third card:
This covers the basic Baccarat play but by being a BETBUDDY member most of the above is not relevant because all you will do is just place your bet on Banker or Player as shown on your BETBUDDY account.
